A powercut has fried my logitech mx 900 cordless bluetooth receiver :-(
Recomendations for a replacement?
Like the look of the Logitech® MX™ Revolution mouse.
And a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2000 for the keyboard.

I have one of These, an an IBM model M - the best and most bulletproof keyboard ever.

I like a cordless though - allows me to use my desk for other stuff easier.

I've not seen one but surely a ps/2 to bluetooth adaptor is available from somewhere ? - then the next powercut only fries the bluetooth, not the KB![]()

ahh yes, some ideas here:

and a wii mote for the mouse, sounds perfect !
take it from me don't put wireless keyboards or mice in classrooms or you will never see them againi was reading a post on a website were 40 wireless keyboard receivers were pinched from a school over 3 days and they had to replace them. i think that will teach the school a lesson in how to glue things down

The wireless kit is for home :-)
Just had the MS 2000 desktop and mx mouse - so far so good.
We only use wireless in schools for the tutor PC's. Never had them stolen, but the batteries have vanished a couple of times.

our languages dept bought some against our advise - endless trouble. out of 8 sets , 2 or 3 have been stolen and one the batteries exploded over summer, but the real issue is the endless support calls because they 'don't work' for various reasons - low batteries, etc.

We had a Gyration wireless keyboard and mouse in every e-learning suit and in most rooms with an interactive whiteboard accross the school (i think...there were certainly a set in each RE room) and they never got pinched.
I think it's down to location and pupils. We did however have a monitor taken from ICT (we had CCTV) and also a couple of projectors were taken and then found again hidden somewhere on site. But no keyboards or mice, and gyration kit is worth about 90 quid for the kbd and mouse!
