Rack mount server in network cabinet?
Hello,
I have a floor standing network cabinet 600mm*600mm in dimenion. There is plenty of space in the cab.
I am about to buy a new Dell poweredge server and would like to know if the server will mount in the network cab. The server is 900mm deep - however, I dont have a back on the cabinet and there is plenty of space behind the cab.
Should the server fit in the cab?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

No, it probably wont. Chances are you wont be able to mount the rails correctly.

I have just fitted 4 new 1u Dell servers +new rails to our stadalone cabs. The Dell rails are adjustable, but just make sure you have the rear mounting pillars fitted as some cabs don't. These are the same as your front ones, but are also offset sometimes.
Ooops, I've just seen your dimensions. Your cab may be a little to small I think.
