There's no way to get round that I'm afraid.
Ok, I'll rephrase that. There's no way round the limit unless you start hacking away at your terastation.
i don't mind hacking this part only, there are people who have completely changed the whole of software to allow putty, etc but i don't want to do any of this just the limit. I might try the serial cable way and see if this allows me to do it.
Old Thread Revivication
We have recently purchased the Pro version of the Terastation. Plugged it in, added it to domain etc. Created a directory on it for staff.
The problem has arisen whereby I want to create a directory for students...which means I have to turn on the AD authentication bit to share the directory. When I do, all the files vanish from the terastation. They re-appear when I turn off the AD authentication again...and everything is accessible.
Also, is it possible to determine what folders are fully accessible by specific members of staff? Such as a Science teacher has full access to the Science folder...but read only to say, History?
Noob here so please be gentle.
I am looking to increase the AD group limitation on our Terastation Pro II. I can telnet into the box, but am now stuck on how to edit the required file. Strictly a Windows person I'm afraid Would anyone be able to give more detailed instructions on how to edit the file as mentioned in one of the previous posts? I'm looking for the correct syntax.
Thanks in advance.
