    Printer randomly printing old jobs

Strange issue with a HP 2200dn (JetDirect card inside), running on a Windows 2003 server network The teachers say it is randomly printing old jobs. This is a classroom printer, so very few folks print to it and they know what they should be printing. We've just come back from holiday, and over that period an old job has been printed out on that printer with no one in those classrooms. Spooky! I am thinking it must be a memory issue - not getting flushed??? But how on earth do I wipe the old job out?

Check the print queues and clear anyting in the queue. May have been an old job waiting in the queue which never actually printed.

Restart the spooler on the server hosting the print queue.

Thanks. I had checked the print queue, and it was clear, but hadn't thought to restart the spooler. Have done so now. Just a case of wait and see if that's cleared the issue.

It is still happening. A different teacher in that classroom this morning, and when I went to check if everything was OK, she mentioned that the printer had printed out some work from 2010. It's that same print job, because she said it was about elephants and that is the job I raised this issue with. Very strange!

Factory default the printer and re-configure.

    I was going to say

    1. Update the firmware on the jet direct box
    2. factory default the jet direct box and re configure this again.
