So I used a reseller to buy and install Ruckus in one of the schools I work in and they have been pestering me to renew my support licence but this would be cutting into the budget. So basically I would like to ask how important are this firmware updates? I have had no problems so far.

Firmware updates can be important but to renew your contract on this basis should not be the driver.
Consider your warranty and should the firmware update you should be able to go to the manufacturer.

Thanks Sukh, all Ruckus hardware has a lifetime warranty regardless of the support you have. I think that financially for me it makes more sense just to leave it.

np, it's not difficult to support a wireless network from my experience and there's loads of help avaliable.
