We have a Dell NX3100 file server that we are going to rebuild over half term. I cannot find the disks that came with it. Does anyone here have a 3100, and, more importantly, do they have the disks that go with it, or know where I can get a copy?
Have you tried contacting Dell directly? That would be my first point of call, see if they're able to supply copies (explaining you already have the system, but have misplaced the disks). The only problem you might have here is with it being licensed software on them, they might want to charge you for a new license, worth a shot first though if you haven't.
Yes, going round the houses a bit with Dell. You know how it is... I thought this route might quicker! I am trying the Dell route too.
Aye, I know, I tried getting some driver disks for some OLD Dell laptops we have (D505) when I was doing upgrades on them. In the end, I ended up phoning a couple of local schools that I know had been part of the same Laptops for Teachers scheme and had the same ones. Sods law that when I'd copied the disks that someone pointed out the cupboard in the most random location away from the ICT Suite with the disks and stuff in for each of the Dells. lol .. but I'm guessing you bought and stored these disks, so you're not going to have the luxury of someone else knowing where they are.
Thanks for the replies. DaveP, I have tried those links, and although the software and firmware are there, the restore disk, i.e. the copy of Storage Server 2008 is not, and being Storage Server 2008, I don't think they have an ISO for download.
aptproductions, That is correct. They might have been filed under 'B' for bin. I have got somewhere with Dell recently though, and they may be able to let me have a copy of their recovery disk.
