Temp of Core i3 - 550
just fitted a i3 in to a new pc and the temp in the bios is running at 45*c
Is this right or have i done something wrong

A quick Google seems to suggest that an i3 should run at around 40c idle, and around 50c with a few programs, so this sounds pretty normal to me.

Which heatsink/fan are you using? Relative to the massive tower heatsinks from Noctua, Thermalright and Prolima, the Intel HSF is not that good. You can easily lower your load temps by > 10°C by using a good third-party heatsink/fan.

Also some good thermal compound if you have not already used some.
