Spare Desktop anyone?
Not sure this is the right forum but
Im in need of a spare test machine, the motherboard in the one I have has just given up. Im just wondering if anyone/school has a spare desktop around?
I don't need a monitor/mouse/keyboard.
I don't need an OS.
I would like a small desktop(I had a shuttle, so something that size or the size of a dell optiplex sort of thing), that runs quietly (I want to leave it on all the time).
Not an awful spec, but like 1.2Ghz, 256 RAM, 30GB+, Network card.
I am willing to pay by paypal/cheque.
Anyone help?

Evil! At one of my schools over half the PCs are 300MHz and 600MHz. This isn't changing for quite a long time either
(we are getting a new ICT Suite in soon but the classroom PCs are still going to be the old ones).

Depending on the Head we may be removing quite a few P4 2.4GHz computers and although I'd like to put them to use in another building I may have to get rid of them to pupils, parents, staff and other schools maybe for a small fee but not much?
We're based in Walsall so it's not too far?
If we have to get rid of them I'll let you know ASAP if you're interested?

I know where you are coming from _Bat_ Quite a few of my computers are as old as that. Er - anyone got anything better going spare?
We are getting one new suite but all the other computers in both schools I work in are very slow - no money for new ones - deficit budgets etc
I am near Poole in Dorset

I too would be very interested in better computers (i'm fairly certain the school would not say no to an opportunity such as this). I am in Yardley in Brum. I'd be happy to arrange collection (somehow) and the school would have to agree on the cost as my office has never been in charge of budget.
