Hey all
Right, heres one for you, and that has pissed me off...
a teacher has just come into the office with her laptop and said what do i do about a broken facial my laptop.... GRRR FFS teachers shouldnt be able to have laptops, especially her. She claims she left it with her year 11 class and when she came back to collect it, the facia for the cd has gone missing. I told her that either she will have to pay for a new cd drive or get the kid to pay for it, her automatic response was but its a school laptop, i replied with well yes, but this isnt a warranty issue, its a vandalism issue.
So what im asking is, does anyone know of anywhere i can get a replacement DVD/CD-RW combo drive for a tosh L10 or the facia for the cd drive.

If it's a flush not contoured facia most laptop CD/DVD/RW drive are a generic build only the retaining bracket it bespoke.
I picked up a replacement DVD/RW slimline internal "Sony" for my Acer Laptop from PC Worlds white box shelf and it only cost me £45 inc VAT.
Ebuyer list them such as this...

Just spoken to my line manager and he is furious, so since the laptop is still under warranty and i cant replace any parts until the 3 year is up then looks like we are going to have to send it away, but teachers should know by now... im sure the kids are brighter than they are.
