Hi All,
Don't know if anybody has had expereince with the HP Compaq 8000s Ultra Small Form Factor PCs? We have a load of these at students and some staff computers and they aren't too bad, apart from one. It works fine, although the main system fan is spinning at over 6000 RPM, blowing out a lot of air and noise. I don't know why because it's in a nice air-cond' room, the BIOS idle fan speed is set to the lowest level and the processor is idling at around 45degrees. I'm out of ideas (and as it's a member of SLT i'l like a quick response to this). I'm temped to quick fix by just unplugging the fan but not sure how the processor would cope. Could also swap it out with a spare in our office, but I'd still like to get to the bottom of this.
