    Recommend PC Supliers

    Hi All,
We are looking for recommendations for PC and laptop suppliers. Someone "like" Stone I guess, but we are looking for alternatives at the moment.

    Who can you recommend?

    Thanks.

We mostly buy HP machines from box shifters, latops are the same. The main supplier we use is pro brand, but we sometimes go somewhere else.

If you don't mind looking outside the "broadliners" you could try Taran Microsystems. 01256 817 007. I'm not sure but I think there is a guy Called Jason Holmes there that looks after education. (Don't quote me on that). It's only fair to say I know a couple of the guys that work/ed there however, they have some really big name clients so they must do something right. They can build to spec or quote with the big brands depending on your preference.

    Hope this helps

Cheers guys, yep HP are one of the ones that we would look to.
Never heard of Taran before, so that is a good addition. I'll check them out.
    Thanks!

Have you got Kelway on your list. They were the preferred supplier at my last place, excellent service (Ian Steele), quick competitive quotes, delivered what he promised without fail, and the most important thing when things went wrong, they fixed it no quibble.

Other than that, DELL online can have some bargains, and don't limit to educational / government sector, you can buy from Small Business and it's much cheaper.

If you have brand in mind, it's worth trying to get hold of their educational / local account manager, we did this for some laptops we were looking to purchase, and it was better talking direct to the guy that the resellers ordered from. He confirmed the stock, quantity and spec', (two laptop trollies worth) and then we scouted around the local resellers he recommended and chose based on value added, and extra services / accessories we wanted.

I'd have said that goes without saying. Would this have been better sent as a PM?

We bought 360 PC's from Ergo last summer....only a handful have developed problems. Really impressed with them, especially as they gave us a buffer stock of spare parts so if one develops a fault then we can swap the part ourselves and just send the faulty part back. Saves so much effort and time!

HP Desktops for us as well, had some good pricing from Dan @ WStore for HP Kit as well as Proband and Insight. To be fair anyone on the Buying Solutions Frameworks seems to get good pricing for HP Kit

We buy HP machines from Insight and CSE usually. We also like Viglen's machines, they're pretty good with excellent warranty support.
