    HP L198W

I have an issue with the above monitor- a HP L1908W. No matter what PC it is plugged into, the screen goes into sleep mode. The status light stays green. It is not a windows issue as it does it at start up. I have changed the VGA cable. I can't access the menu's either.

I have looked on the t'web for a way to reset the monitor without the menu's but couldn't find anything...

Any suggestions or has it had it?

is the refresh rate too high?

Have you tried another screen of the same model on it ?

When the machine boots up does it show the bios setup information ?

Sounds like its on its way to me ....

Its not the PC. It's not windows. Its definately the monitor. It won't even stay on for me to check the BIOS!

Could it be the backlight, if you shine a torch on the pannel at a 45 degree angle while it is going can you see any content on the screen then. It could just be the inverter or something and may be viable to repair.
