S7210 CPU, network, ISCSI, NFS and CIFS traffic pause
I am running continuous vdbench I/O from four servers (2 x Ubuntu, Windows2003 and OpenSolaris).
Every now and again the S7210 CPU, network, ISCSI, NFS, CIFS traffic will pause this can be seen from the analytics. The pause in traffic can be up to 3 minutes long.
Re: S7210 CPU, network, ISCSI, NFS and CIFS traffic pause
Hi Teejay,
I am on the most current release of the software and I have already open a call with Sun. But it is taken them sometime to get back with an answer, that is why I have put this on the forum to get some feedback from other users of the S7000. We have got four test server connected to the S7210 and they all see this pause in I/O from the S7210.
I had a Sun case open with a customer for months, at 4am all clients got SCSI timeouts shown in Event Viewer logs.
The customer had replication with snapshots, changing this plus latest patches resolved the problem.
A little test to prove that its the 7210 and not external, change the clock time 2 hours forward on the 7210 and see if the problem moves to the new time. If it does then its a scheduled event on the 7210 and most likely to be a snapshot deletion/creation.
