Standard procedure for "fixing" Windows XP: wipe, re-install. Don't mess around updating or trying to sort things, just wipe everything and start over. Do remember you'll need special install media for Tablet PC Edition, though.
Having written a Flash-based handwriting application in the past, I'd agree that Flash isn't the fastest of input methods - it just can't quite keep up.

27th April 2010, 11:07 AM #17 Does it need net access? May do to remove the typical process hogs too like AV, making sure it's well locked down otherwise. Newest version of Flash on there, and see if there are any updates for the graphics (probably only Intel 815 or so but worth a look).
