I'm asking Santa for a mouse to go with my laptop. I'm torn between a wired/wireless design. I use the laptop at home just on the batteries quite a lot, so the idea of having to plug in a mouse seems just plain wrong. Having said that, there are some clever wired mice with retractable USB leads (example). Additionally, the USB ports on the laptop are on the left hand side and I'm right handed.
Any advice on this one?

Unless you've got a laptop with an internal bluetooth card and you get a bluetooth mouse, you'll have to plug something in, whether it be the mouse's receiver or its cord.
Personally I'd suggest getting a wired mouse, at least it'll be one less set of batteries to worry about. MS have just re-released the Intellimouse Explorer v3, that's my favourite mouse ever

The MoGo mouse is a seriously cool bit of techy hardware
