Default ML115 easy setup cd error

    Hi,

Just installed 4 sata drives in ML115, went in bios and turned raid on

I get this error from easy setup cd :

Boot controller: nvIDA mcp55 mempry controller
Boot controller disk size: 0 mb

"The primary controller configured in your system is not supported by this version of HP Easy Set-up cd"

I then went into Boot up and set raid 5 that way instead.

I then installed xenserver, but wen i rebooted it just said "Boot Error".

Does this sound like dodgy sata cable ?

Anyone help. I was looking forward to virtulization!!

    Thanks

What Hypervisor were you planning to use? I can't see any need for the SmartStart CD if you're deploying ESX/ESXi, I just popped the 4.0U1 CD in and off it went. Not sure about MS Hyper-V though...

    Hi

I was going to use it for the raid setup, but i have sinced used the command/dos based one.

I was going to try xenserver, cause someone said tht something about 64bit arch on ml115, been trying to find what he said but i cannot off hand.

Anyway i get a boot error with xenserver and also whilst loading server 2003 my keyboard stops working.... i started to think it was all related to the easy setup error.... but i dont actually think it is. Just coincidence

Worth looking at Citrix Xenserver then as it seems to have alot more driver support.
    That was it!

Ah right, I used a USB stick for ESXi and my VMs were on networked storage, sorry!
