I have an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card which I use to connect my Tandberg LTO2 StorageLoader. The card has stopped recognising the existance of the both the backup drive and loader!!!
The card does not even see the devices at boot time (despite obviously sending some kind of signal to the devies because you can hear them resetting).
Is there any sort of diagnostic I can run on the card before having to shell out nearly £200 for a new one?
Bad termination?

I have removed and re-attached the terminator and noticed that the little green LED illuminates when the terminator is connector. This does not seem to have had any effect though
Any other ideas?
cable gone bad?
What hardware is the adapter installed in? Most branded server manufacturers offer reasonable good SCSI diagnostics from a diagnostic partition. Just a thought

OK... tried to post before but the site was being moved (not Dos_Box's fault but the poor instructions onscreen).
I don't have a spare cable and I don't want to buy another because the new version of this card has a different connector - the cables are £30!!!
I have borrowed a different card off Dos_Box now and will test it all again tomorrow.

The card I have borrowed off Dos_Box seems to have allowed me to see the tape library again
Looks like my card is goosed so I will have to shell out for a new oneBest get counting the pennies!
