Laptop Power Socket - Where can I find one?
Could any of you suggest a supplier that would be able to sell me one of these?
I've got a Sony Vaio laptop here with a broken socket (centre-pin knackered - see pic) and I can find a replacement socket on eBay, which is all well and good but our finance people don't do eBay
Any suggestions who could supply it? I don't need the full assembly just the socket, as I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron.

How much is it on eBay? If it's not too much couldn't you purchase it and claim it back from the school and they pay you back?
Just curious, I have had to do it in the past myself

I didn't realise my love for old keyboards had gained such notoriety.

You can't beat a good 80's/90's clickety-click keyboard.
Love em. Course everyone else in the room hates 'em

As above - if you're handy enough to do it yourself, ebay. £4 almost seems a bit steep - sure last time I ordered some for our Acers it was less than a £1 including postage! For that price, I didn't even bother claiming back.

- Rep Power
You could try Laptops and Spares. We use them good turnround time next day most times.

Bit too specialised for Maplin. Although I suppose it could be worth checking CPC/RS/Rapid although their "handling charge" might make it pricey even if they do it.

I would guess that its a Dell Keyboard from the mid 90's myself and if it is it will be PS2 and have the DELL logo in the top left corner of it.....
