Does any one else have or know about an issue with connecting Video Cameras to Dell 510 latitude laptops via Firewire?
We have got quite a few Canon Video cameras and the staff use them to video certain class based activities. When they try ti upload the video files to the laptop the Dell does not want to know. We have installed the correct camera drivers and when you plug the camera in via firewire you see the camera appear in the taskbar and also in the 'Scanner Cameras' folder.
But after the original connection bubble disappears (20-30 seconds) the camera is no longer there. It disappears from both task bar and the Cameras folder. If you try to reconnect nothing happens if you do a reboot then connect the camera again it detects and then after 20-30 seconds it disappears again,
