Hard glass monitors?
Hi,
All our tft monitors at the moment are hard glass but I'm wondering if we really need them for our next suite upgrade. There seems to be a bit of a shortage at the moment.
Does anyone here use normal tft monitors and do you have any problems with damage to the screens?
Thanks
Ben

1st March 2010, 02:19 PM #5 We were getting just as many hard glass monitos broken as normal monitors, so we've moved back to normal ones now as it works out cheaper.

1st March 2010, 02:20 PM #6 We have a mix of hard and soft. The less supervised the use of the computers (sixth form) the more likely we are to use hard glass. We have one computer room with soft tfts and there's been no (touches wood) damage in nearly 4 years.
Our kids are pussycats compared to some schools though.

thats funny, we have exactly the same monitor sitting on the same worktop in the office also with a smashed screen. It's the second one we've had smashed so far.

2nd March 2010, 12:37 PM #13 Would be interesting to see the spec as to what the glass should be as I don't think any of them are toughened.

2nd March 2010, 12:50 PM #14 We only have the 'soft'-TFT displays. Never had any problems with them (yet, *knocks wood*).
@SpuffMonkey:
I once looked for vandal-proof keyboards, but for the price of one keyboard, I can buy a complete PC...
