Anyone come across this before and found a solution please. this afternoon I discovered a dear student sitting in front of a Dell E773S CRT 17 inch monitor that had developed what I can only describe as a circular display.
I tried the reset and other adjustment buttons but still the rounded display persists?
There is a reset current mode and reset all mode according to this , so curious if you tried the reset all mode ??

Thanks for that Gecko, I did give it a try earlier but to no avail. Maybe with a freshend mind pre student arrival tomorrow it will work. Thanks also for the link - I searched in vain earlier and failed to find it. Regards - Geoff.
pressing all the buttons on the front of the monitor at the same time ?
If not then there are some monitors we have where ya have to literally fiddle around with each individual setting ( calmly LOL ) to get it back and its a right pain in the a$$.
You could always call Dell and see what they have to say , maybe they know a quick way.
Another thing that may or may not help is depending on the onboard graphics, you may or may not be able to reset it that way possibly.
But if they mucked it up through the monitor then Im thinking you may have to rejig it using the monitor![]()

Give it a clout and see if that solves it, did on my last one that was funny like that.
np lol @ John and give it a whack ( I always save that as a last resort )
Thats my favourite fix for monitors see my sig :POriginally Posted by john

@Chris HEHE Yup, works really well for iffy CRTs. Especially Dells, fixed many of them that way, usual dodgy dry solder joints that need a quick dab from the gun solves them.
Thanks for all the excellent replies folks. PC booted up this morning with a bit of a shrunken correct shape screen. Reset accessed and this time it functioned and allowed reset to factory settings. Beady eye on that particular student next time he visits - maybe it wasn't him but!
cool, glad the reset actually worked LOL![]()
