Yes, we use cartridge world for refillable toners, aparantly it doesn't invalidate your warranty either if you still have one. If its directly related to the toner then it will invalidate the warranty.

To control printing why dont you look at papercut or pcounter to manage your printing system. I highly recommend paper cut, i am looking at upgrading ours to the latest release.

Any leakage problems at all? Slightly cautious with some refills, we have had some before for a previous printer but had a few smudges, leakages etc, different brand of printer so just wondered what the HP is like with refills.

not with this particular model, no. Your right it is an expensive printer to maintain.... all the more sense to go with refills.
