    Terrastation Pro USB problem

Does anyone else use a Terrastation Pro for backup?

I have one sat in my office backing up a file server then I attach a external USB each friday and do a backup to the USB drive.

Man its slow, think its been running over 24 hours now and its only done 180Gb which is alot slower than usual, it does usually take a couple of days but this isn't going to finish.

I know there was an article in PC Pro about how poor the performance is on these boxes with regard to USB but this is ridiculous.. and having to power it down to connect a USB is pants also.

Think I will have to bite the bullet and upgrade to a diskless Terra III and swap the drives over.

Its probably the NIC going in the main unit, I have four of them, two fly through the NIC at around 800MB/min the other two are down at 100 MB/min if I am lucky, and thats before the USB delays etc.
