Interesting RAM problem (i think!)
Strange one this.....
Windows Server 2003 keeps blue screening after a short period of time. Each time with a different reason if any is given if any at all. The machine is set up correctly in terms of drivers etc. and had previously been running fine.
What was really interesting was that I booted it from a BartPE disk into windows xp pro and it did the same.
I originally tested the ram with windows memory diagnostic which it passed. I then tried it later.... it failed.
I tested another machine which was running ok and had good ram (it passed), so I transferred that ram into the server. It then failed the diagnostic. I put the ram back in the original machine....it passed!
Have changed the motherboard and power supply in the server yet still the same problem.
I'm puzzled!

Yes, I'm 100% this is a hardware problem. In order of probability (ie, things to swap):
Probably the RAM.
Might be the CPU.
Possibly the Motherboard.

Have you tested the ram with memtest86+ ???

the next point of call is the cpu.
unless the memory you tried wasn't the same as the original stuff in the server as this may cause problems
also try the ram from the server in this other machine that you have and retry the diagnostics

Re: Interesting RAM problem (i think!)
Also check the timings of the ram between the 2 machines since you have that luxury. I had a HP proliant decided one morining during the summer to overclock its own ram leading to stabiltiy issues like this.
After thats its as other say check CPU especially if its AMD
Mobo and of course failing PSU could do the same.

Just a thought as you have the luxury to just swap all parts it would seem, have you tried swaping the HDD over to the one that works? That would eliminate if there is anything wrong with hardware.
