Recommend Me A Printer
Hi,
I am looking for a printer for our new ICT suite but I'm not sure what to go for. It should be a mono laser with network card and not too expensive to run. We currently have hp 1160/1320/p2015 but these are not for sale anywhere. Are there any any hp printers that are still being sold that take the 53x, 49x or 49a toner cartridges? If not, is the HP 2055dn any good?
Thanks

30th July 2009, 01:19 PM #2 John Graham at our sponsor ICT Direct (http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/) has some HP P2015's in that are open boxed but new still, give him a call and see what he has left. I bought one this morning from him and he had a couple left I believe. He will let you know what he has.

30th July 2009, 01:40 PM #4 I would seriously look at Xerox printers. We brought a Xerox 4500 last year (because it was end of line and going cheap) for our staff room, and it's the only printer that we've had absolutely no bother with this year, dispite it receiveing a lot of absuse from teachers. I'm also amazed at how economical this printer is, the current page count is 23764, and it's only on it's second cartridge!
In my opinion HP's build quality has gone right downhill in the last 2-3 years and I will be looking at other makes myself, dispite buying HP loyally for the last 5 years. Xerox gets a big vote in my book!
Mike.

30th July 2009, 10:47 PM #6 The HP P2055dn seems to be a good printer, I have installed a few and not found any problems with it. Personally if funds can stretch I would recommend a P3005x.

30th July 2009, 10:50 PM #7 The HP2015n is a damn good workhorse, and has now ben replaced with the P2055dn - personally not had any problems and I have several running now, however there are some complaints on here about them randomly losing their IP

30th July 2009, 10:58 PM #8 Yeah, we've not been too impressed with them, we tend to buy Kyocera printers... the HPs were a one off and were not as good as the Kyoceras.
Having said that, the problems we were having don't seem to be occurring now.
