23rd July 2009, 09:54 PM #2 Worst one I've had to take to bits was an Apple G4 Powerbook, - I think there were around 50 screws to remove before I could replace the hard drive
Some of the best are the HP/Compaq ones, as pretty much all the service manuals are online at HP's site - makes life a lot easier, as you actually know which bits are *meant* to come apart

23rd July 2009, 10:36 PM #5 Ah, tricky. I hate taking apart laptops for the same reason. They are so fiddly and fragile, much preffer servers with big clunky chunks of easily removable hardware.
There can be a large cable cluster under that bar at the top of the keyboard on some models, have you managed to get the keyboard off it as sometimes you can disconnect from under there or see what is going on by shining a strong light in there. Looking at the 205 the cable cluster seems unlikely though so probably a case of rechecking for any hiding screws and using something plasticy to pry at the misbehaving clip.
Perhaps a picture of where it is stuck could help jog a few memories from people.
Good luck with it anyhow.

23rd July 2009, 10:49 PM #7 If you mean the plastic bit that sandwiches the actual LCD then there are usually little rubber circular pads on the front around the edges or on the sides and top. Pry those off and there are usually screws underneath them that you can remove. It is then a case of gently prying the front bit from the back bit by popping the clips around the edge.
Step 14 onwards Opening display panel on Toshiba Satellite A210 or 215 notebook

as for the screws, it always happens even more so with laptops! if the screen drops out then you know where you went wrong
Go get some sleep now
