    Your dream workstation

Since I've been working here for 3 years, and I'm still using a botched together Desktop (old RM PC, with my RAM, and my graphics card, and an old case) I'm thinking I could do with a completely new setup for next year.

It definately needs to be dual screen, and I'll need two new monitors as well (so I can stop using the ones I brought in from home). Also needs to be able to run Adobe CS4 at lightining speed

Can either be a straight system, or can be seperate parts to put together. I'm not sure how much I money I'll have, but lets assume £1000, what would you buy?

You've made me think of Baldrick, with his "Dream Turnip"!!

You could get something with an Intel i7 if you really want to show off...

might be but they are expensive in comparison to building your own or going with Dell and there support from what I have heard is in a word cr4p

I have a 2008 early edition Mac Pro - Just need money to up the RAM so will end up with 10gb of ram and 894 gbs of hdd space with 1 hard drive slot free and can take my 74 gig raptor out so will free up another one and can still attach the eSATA adaptor to the back of my mac

Saw one or two posts where someone had an alienware ( now Dell ) and support was pants from the posts

Personally I'd go for an I7, watercooled (thermochill 120.3, DTek blocks, Liang DDC pump), 12Gb DDR3 ram, two 4890 graphics cards, and a 4Tb raid 10 array, in a LianLi case, with a Dell 30", flanked by two 24", with a 24" tilted over above it. sorted!

I'll stick with my Sun Ultra 24 (obviously I upped the RAM to 6GB)

Hmm, Alienware looks the nuts, but does seem to be an extra £200 over what I would expect. The Chillblast Fusion is looking tasty though...

I have to try and limit the number of times "Gaming enthusiast PC" is mentioned, its for work, not gaming. Although I'll be sorely tempted to take it home over the summer for "testing" purposes
