    HP Warranty Returns

A PSU has died on one of our new systems. Anyone know what the number is to report it and get it changed out. I don't exactly need an engineer to come out!

I always find it less stressful to use their online support option. Unless you really enjoy explaining that it is a PSU fault, so there is no point in reinstalling your OS...

    HP - Contact HP

You might also have to have an engineer replace it (rather than DIY) as it is related to power - not sure about HP, but I know other companies also have to run a PAT test after they have replaced a PSU.

I've always found the Support Case Manager on the IT Resource Centre section of their website to be very useful. It gives you the option to raise a support request for a serial number and indicate if you only want parts. Done this a couple of times recently for system boards

If the PSU is a Hot Swap PSU, you can pull the PSU out and you need the part no. which should also be the replacement no. in the format of 000000-000.
Or ring the company or LEA who supplied the Server/PC and give serial no. of the unit and they can advise the PSU required.

Thanks guys, I was PM'd the HP number in response to my post. I phoned them at 3:30pm on Wednesday, explained that I had swapped the psu and the computer was working which they accepted. Within 10 minutes I had an email with the case number. By 5pm I had an email saying it had been shipped and I received it at lunchtime yesterday - from Germany. I'm impressed. Sod's Law, I didn't need it in any hurry as I had a spare. Probably would have been a week if it was needed.

It's a separate psu. I initially contacted our supplier who promised to get straight back to me. I'm still waiting!!!
