It's a bummer, the first part of the day it looked very good but all the printers with the new firmware went offline a few hours ago. So 20101025 doesn't do the job and I'd really appreciate a download link to the beta firmware.
I'll test the beta and if this doesn't help I'll ask the contractor to take the machines back.

I could really use this beta firmware. We are chasing ghosts on our network. Something happened when we installed several of these printers. The printer are experiencing the offline issue and we suspect the other ghosts might belong to these printers.
Can you send me the link?

By creating a separate printer vlan, we effectively stopped the rogue packets from sending these printers to sleep (our best guess). We no longer see this problem with our HP2055DN or any other printer for that matter.....
I am certain it is a combination of this....I have not had a problem since.....I am thinking the firmware upgrade updates the network stack on these things...

7th June 2011, 11:39 AM #214 A batch of pm's will be going out with the firmware, sorry for the delay we have had a lot of things on lately.
rbance: yeh its something with broadcasts, the firmware cures the issue but a separate vlan would similarily fix the issue albeit a huge amount of work
