    FlipCams

I am just wondering if anyone has experience with the Flipcams specifically the Flip Mino 2GB? Are they robust and is the quality any good?

All going well we will be looking for about 15 of them does anyone here sell them?

We have been using them in the PE dept. and they love them. They look robust and being solid-state should be ok. We have just ordered some more from Amazon.

We have one of the standard ones (not the Mino) and it's great. I was very impressed at the quality - especially for the £80 that we paid for it!

Make sure you have plenty of storage space - our lot generated about 15GB of video pretty much straight away and that's with only 3 cameras being used. The Flips we have don't have a quality setting, so they generate a fairly consistent 20MB/min of xvid avi which can add up quickly.

O dear! 15gb is all we have at the moment in total! Time to upgrade!

We've been looking at these as well as the english department have been asking about getting a video camera. If they're any good, we might get some to use in IT as well

I think the only problem we're going to have is storage, but that would probably be a problem with any video camera.

I'd echo this as well. I bought one of these for the business studies department. They are a decent bit of kit, but they do swallow space on the servers.
