Can anyone recommend a cheapish laptop as my parents are currently looking out for one. They are wanting to spend max £300.
All they will do is use outlook to check emails and browse the internet, mabye occasionally watch a DVD.

Have you checked out Dell? We use a lot here and I've recommended them to several people as personal purchases - all have been happy.
Dell Inspiron 1545 - 15.6" Widescreen
Intel Celeron Dual-Core Processor T1600 (1.66GHz, 1MB, 667MHz)
1024MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
160GB (5,400rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
£319 - inc VAT
Dell Vostro A860 - 15.6" Widescreen
Intel Celeron 560 (2.13GHz, 1M L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)
Memory 1024MB 667MHz DDR2
160GB (5400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
£249 - ex VAT (business model)
Neither's going to be really fast at that price, and it'd be worth getting the Dual-Core (even if it is a Celeron). You can get better CPU/RAM if you can spend a bit more too. Other than that check Acer out, they often have some good deals as well.
Cheers,
Chris
