    Document Scanner Recomendations?

    Hi,

We are looking at some form of document scanner - not sure we need network based or not.

Any recomendations? I have heard of the Toshiba E-Copy system, but I think this is expensive.

Have seen the HP Scanjets and the Epson GT series. Want to know what other people use and what they like or don't like?

    Thanks for your comments!

Wev went cheap and cheerful with the Canon Lide scanners. They've been great!

If you have networked copiers, you can often use these as document scanners too which will save on duplication and they tend to be very quick as well.

QTF +1. We've bought several of these and despite being cheap as chips they work better than anything else we've ever had. USB Powered aswell which makes cabling them much easier and stops pupils unplugging them by accident!

In fact they're so good/cheap that I'm tempted to buy one for home even though I rarely use a scanner

We already use the photocopiers that we have in at the minute, but as the school is so spread out they are nowhere near the people we need to do the input.

Anyone use anything which has an automatic document feeder on it?

I do like the CanoScan though - may have to look at putting them in classrooms!

Ask your reprographics people in the school - they may already have a document scanner. We've just updated ours to connect to the network and save the scanned documents into a central area. We are also looking to tie copier logons into user directories so when I scan it goes into my directory and so on.

Konica Minolta are the new ones we have.
