Misco are selling the LTO 2 version of the Quantum SuperLoader 3 for £1800 and also the LTO 3 version for £2549. Has anyone used one of these we haven't had a tape loader before but our storage is ever increasing so we're looking into one.

Better suggstions also appreciated.
Thanks.

7th April 2009, 03:23 PM #3 I haven't had anything to do with these before how does it work, do you install some kind of backup agent on each server that pushes data across the network to the device then manage the backups from a console like in Backup Exec?

7th April 2009, 03:33 PM #4 Yep - you will need Backup Exec or equivalent. The autoloader connects to your "Main" backup exec server via SCSI. If you buy remote agents for backup exec, you can also then backup contents from other servers directly to the autoloader (as it is IP connected).
We currently run v12 backup exec, shortly to be upgraded to v12.5. Had no real issues with it
