    Cleaning peripherals

I was cleaning my keyboard yesterday, and was thinking 'How often should we clean the keyboards and/or mice plus screens around school if at all'.

Do you clean them? If so how often do you do it?

Once a year for keyboards, mice and screens on desktop computers. If a staff laptop comes in and looks dirty then we will give it a clean, same when an old laptop is going to a new member of staff.

The pupil laptops are never cleaned. I have seen a TA give a few of them a quick wipe once!!

I've actualy got a rancid old keyboard out of an IT room. It was probably last cleaned when it left the factory about 6 years ago.

I gave them all (and the mice) a wipe over with anti-bac wipes when the stomach bug hit the school in January. I've done this before, so it's roughly annually!

I think in many schools they get destroyed by the pupils before there's time to clean them.

Buy Fujitsu. Their keyboards would survive a nuclear war!
