Hi
I was wondering if anyone has the HP ML370G3 Servers and if anyone has converted these from a tower to Rack form.
Can it be done? if so does anyone know where I could get hold of a conversion kit?
I want to rackmount all our servers as we are limited on space and I want to get rid of all the shelving that is in the server room and instead fit a new rack in.
I would rather convert the 2 HP tower servers into racks as they have still got a lot of life in them yet and can be used for small tasks.
If anyone can recommend I would be grateful.
Thanks

18th March 2009, 05:09 PM #2 Ive converted 4 of them from towers to racks, very easy. Just order the tower to rack kit, you basically take the right hand edge of the case off which reveals the hooks/holes for the rails (included in the kit), discard that bit of metal (scrap yard may give you 50p for it?!) take the domed front off and you get to screw on a new flat front which makes it look like a G4 version instead, turn the optical drives around so they face the right way and voilla.
As for suppliers, the usual s should be able to help you here.
Very easy to do, took me about 10 minutes to do and then a further 5 to rack it up.

HP Part Number - 225074-B22

18th March 2009, 05:18 PM #3 One of my clients actually has a spare one, Its ashame that the postage would probably be equivilent to a new server due to the involvement of the UK mail 'system'.
The tower to rack conversion kit is a 225074-B22 (HP ProLiant ML370 Generation 3 - World Wide QuickSpecs) but that code may no longer be active. If getting it from hp you will probably need to get the replacement front bezzel seporatly as the combined kits including them are not likely to be still avalible. The ebay one above looks complete though.
