In the middle of replacing our old Mobile Ones with the new widescreen [ Core 2 Duo ] models which arrived yesterday - and I have now had two in a row with dead pixels on the LCD......
NOT IMPRESSED. I think one more and a phone call to RM may be in order.
Oh and now one has not ghosted properly.....Hmmmmm

10th March 2009, 06:11 PM #2 Well this'll test your patience and will test RM's customer service
If it was anyone else (HP, Dell, Samsung, Toshiba) anything up to 5 dead or lazy pixels is a "non issue" even if they're smack in the middle of the screen. I've forced (after much shouting) HP to change a couple of laptops with that affliction, but I'll be interested to know how you get on with RM arguing the same
With current prices I'd rather hope they do the right thing.

10th March 2009, 08:19 PM #4 Well I have lost count for the number of RM One 20" and 19" calls I have made.
We had 120 delivered and have had numerous monitors replaced, powerbuttons not connected, fans really noisy.
Best one yet was an engineer was sent to replace a part, but the thing had to be sent back as he was unable to open the back up, yep the security screws were done up too tight!
Oh well, we have ordered more now too!

10th March 2009, 08:22 PM #5 The OP is talking about the Mobile One but yes; we've had lots of issues (which are being dealt with very well now) with the 19" height adjustable units.

There's a classes worth of handy fold-away thin clients right there! Stick the power supplies on an extra-large bit of trunking on the wall with just the ends of the AC power outlet and network cables sticking out, supply a small server and you're ready to go!

12th March 2009, 06:55 PM #10 We have received 2 RM Ones with dead pixels, one actually had a small crack underneath the glass. I didn't bother to chase it up though as it is isn't very noticeable and isn't causing a problem or any damage.
