Just been brought a new laptop

Had it dropped off a moment ago, got a new version of Windows on we haven't got on the network at the moment. Not bad booting up, MS Office installed...

Running Windows 3.11 and Office 4.3

And the best bit... it's staying as it's got a serial port to configure switches with and for the pure comedy of using Windows 3.1 (or maybe 2.03 might be even better )

    LMFAO.

Nice, I doubt if many youngsters would appreciated that once that kit was cutting edge, and that mere mortals could only dream of one day owning something like that.

I have to ask, how much did it set you back?

    Just when I...

I took delivery of a new computer today too. Yours is probably slightly better though, I don't think mine can run Windows 3.11

But you can save the world with that laptop... just need a virus to upload to the mothership!

The Compaq has a better standby \ resume feature than any new laptop I've seen, literally instant - and this time I'm being serious!

My very first laptop was 486 model from Evesham Micros and it came with Widows 3.1, I can remeber getting all excited about TTFonts.

First laptop: a Toshiba, with a 40mb hard drive, running Win3.1. Monochrome screen. I remember that the case was beige. Can't remember much else

First actual computer? A Commodore 64. I even had the floppy attachment. Best computer I ever owned, until I moved into the murky world of Mac.
