Networked Printer on Vista
Right, Teachers new laptop (unfortunately Vista - My bad)...
Setup networked Printer, has only worked intermittenly since. Now its stopped working all together. Sits in Print queue for a bit and then gets the error message Error - Sent to Printer. Everyone else is fine, just this Vista laptop.
I went onto the Epson website and downloaded the Vista drivers for the C1100, hasnt made a difference.
I've ran out of patience because its been all about printers today....but that for another thread.

When i went to check the ports there wasnt any listed so i deleted and reinstalled the printer and it seems to be fine now (expect it hasnt picked up the name but hey ho its working!!!)
Simple in the end but im sick of the things today!!!

Erm, this has turned out to be a reccuring problem with this laptop. Sorry to dig up my old post.
She takes her laptop home and then come the morning it wont print to any of our printers. No one else seems to have a problem, only this Vista printer.
When i open it up to see what port its using there are non in the list and it wont allow me to add any...
Any ideas? (apart from getting Vista off the machine, which is my plan eventually!)

add a local user as it's probly disabling the network shares when logged on at home so by having a different user (with shared storeage) they should be ok

add a vbs script to all user startup that removes the printer then readds it at every logon

I'm just wondering if this is one of those "Are you sure you want to connect to the network?... Here let me make it really difficult for you" issues.

Now you've said that it was having issues connecting back to shared.....

disconnect network cable and turn off wireless and logon to check to see if it comes up with any massages a teacher would click to break the machine
