13th February 2009, 07:14 PM #7 Difficult to say without knowing a bit about your existing setup but: Spare PSU for testing if you con't already have one. Replace any CRTs with LCDs for better power consumption and less eye strain. RAM upgrades for any that are lacking and use modern ram DDR or newer. New managed core switch (if you don't already have one) to provide better managment and monitering features for the network etc. A sutible air compresser to blow out dust from the PCs and other stuff like that to get more from your existing investments.

13th February 2009, 09:39 PM #9 Do you really need a duplex printer, unless its going to someone who will use it I find most people dont know how to set up print jobs to duplex.

That's why we force duplex as the default
Took about 6 months of standing by the decision that duplexing is better before the IT staff backed down from the stupid argument that the exam board will not take it if it's double sided.... then again, an exam board did send a DVD back asking for it on VHS
