Right, i've searched other forums buts havent really got the answers i'm after.....

I wanna barcode reader! The one i was after isnt available anymore, anyone recommend one?

Good ol' Simon @ CPLTD is on the hunt for me.

I would really like a cordless one, but am starting to think worse case scenario get a usb one with a long cable....

basically going to be used to create a database of ICT equip and other equipment...

Thoroughly recommend Barcode Man - Home Page

The Heron scanner (by Datalogic) they sell works well and will read the 2 or 3mm wide codes on bottom of Dell computers. They supply all sorts of scanners inc 2D, wireless, etc.

We had some Worth scanners with 24 month warranty. One went flaky after 26 months. The other still works but won't read Dell barcodes very well

We got a Datalogic scanner most recently to upgrade from the 10 year old one we had for the Library Barcode system (Alice) as the original was PS2 and the new PC I gave them only accepted USB.

The Librarian is really impressed with it, if you want to details I'll go and grab them.
