    HP monitor as digital signage

    Right, gonna make myself look a muppet...but then i usually do .

    This HP L2445w monitor has a couple of USB ports which it says you can attach peripherals such as a digital camera....

    so am i right in thinking i could attach some sort of USB card reader. If thats the case we could have it on the wall, head edits slideshow and pops it into USB Hub..hey presto...

    Sadly not. All they do is pass the data along to your host PC. There's no internal logic in the monitor for actually interpreting it (well, I expect you could get a 42" digital photo frame, but only for ££££).
