Printer will not accept new toner

Just put a new toner into a HP Colour Laserjet CP1515n printer and it still says the yellow needs replacing. We have done all the usual, anyone experienced a problem like this before. The only thing I can think of is the new toner is empty!

possibly a faulty sensor on the printer not picking up the new toner.

We had this problem, clean the chip on the toner, and where the chip gets read on the printer and it should fix it, failing that the toners chip wasnt set properly so a replacement is needed. The company you bought it from should do a straight swap.

I had loads of that trouble with a 2605,

I tried everything to fix it, cleaned all the contacts, upgraded the printers firmware, tried different carts.

Seems to be a common problem with HP printers, in the end someone knocked it off a cupboard (nice one) so we ended up getting a new one.

I had the same problem ... the little chip on the toner cartridge was'nt quite seated in the correct place ... I re-seated it and all was well ...
