I can answer question 1. The Samsung NC10 has been getting reports (by users) of around 6.5 hours with the screen dimmed slighty.

As above, the NC10 seems to be the best of the crop at the minute. Got my GF one a couple of weeks back and she says it seems to just keep on going and going

Like the look of it too, might get myself one!

+1 for these.... Just ordered another 2 today, to go with the other 15.

Good battery life, good wireless signal, free 802.1x client that works great.

Yep, I bought an NC10 at the weekend, been playing with it for several hours so far, and still on 65-odd% of the first battery charge. Quite phenomenal really.

At 100% battery with the screen on minimum brightness, just after boot my battery gauge was offering over 7 hours of life.

They seem more like an expensive ultra-portable too - streets ahead of the Eee PC 700 it's replacing.

Toshiba L300D and L300 have poor battery life, we had to order the extended batterys at a further cost.
Each laptops lasts on average 2 - 3 hours depending on strain.

i received my NC10 today and its been at home since 5pm (now 11pm) and its still going strong.

I've mainly been downloading and installing things like avg, skype, Office , Openoffice and browsing the net and its still going strong - battery indicator is still saying 1.5 hours left

This is finally the machine I've been waiting for all my life

If it wasn't for the b*&^*y adverts it on edugeek the screen size would be perfect for browsing

I'm going to lend it out to my pupils during lessons and see if they notice any difference between it and a normal 1.8 celeron machine

What a fantastic piece of kit - even handles my short stubby fingers fine on the keyboard

And the liitle scroll thinghy on the pad is briilliiant - who needs a mouse!

Did I say it is good
    regards

    Simon

Sounds good Si, I was tempted to order one this month as well, but seen as there has been a pay messup by the LEA for me, i cannot afford one this month

it's the proverbial canine spherical objects

It is without doubt the best value/performance/usuabiliy computer I've ever used since a BBC Micro

Every geek should have one - just need the quick release shoulder pack for it

I might be here till the battery dies

    Si
