Toshiba Satellite Pro S300
Does anyone use these or other toshiba laptops in classrooms for kids?
I want to know what the build quality is like, especially keyboard flex and how robust the screens are?
Also if anyone has any recommendations, tough and long battery life is what we are looking for.
Thanks

15th January 2009, 11:30 AM #2 We are using the Sat pro L10 and we have had them for about 2 years now. The only problems we have had with them is kids pulling the keys off them, but they seem to be pretty soild. Also, we have issued them to teachers and they are the most strudiest laptop the teachers have got, as we are using the fujitsu V2030 laptops and the build quality is no where near as good as the Toshiba L10's.

15th January 2009, 11:33 AM #3 Toshiba laptops are a superb solution for schools , not only is the build quality superb but with the backing of the reliability refund warranty this offers peice of mind for any educational establishment, we have just supplied one school with 50 S300 Toshiba's and the feedback we have so far is superb,

I've bought in 14 of them for use at our school and am rather impressed with the hardware. They look similar to the Tecra A9 series and I think, inherit some of the design features. In fact, thinking about it, they offer a serial port, as the Tecra's do, so I would be inclined to say that they are actually based on the Tecra A9 chassis. They certainly seem more robust then the L49 series, which I have issued to staff, although have had no problems. We also have some Tecra A9s and these have also been excellent - one had a motherboard failure, but this was resolved and returned to us by Toshiba within 2 weeks.
