    Lot of other stuff - photoshop, video editing, cad/cam etc. Pretty much anything our desktops are used for.

    Primary school
    4 Laptop trolleys
    15 Laptops in each.

    We've had these since Januray and apart from logon issues we've had no hardware problems at all. We brought 60 toshiba A100's because they were cheap and there still working fine today. We only let year 2 - 6 use them as Reception/Y1&2 have a mini ICT suite.

    I am responsible for charging them but apart from that its not too bad. The only thing i find hard to do is inatall software as you have to get the laptops out the trolley log them in and then let the software install rather than just logging them in on a wired workstation. It just adds that extra step to the whole process.

    @techie08:
    I have looked into TOC regarding laptops and wireless versus fat client and also thin client wired models and laptops always lose, not only on the cost factor but also on speed and usage.

    Our LA has just ran the CFP incentive and to date i have had out of ten laptops recalled for year 11, four have had to be written off through damage.
    The theory is if it don't belong to them they ain't gonna take care it.

    You pays your money and you takes your chance it's up to you.
