iPAQ rx3700 Problem
Having a problem where it just won't turn on. I've tried removing the battery for a weekend and switching memory card but to no avail. What happens is as the power button is pressed it lights up and but then fades out. As it does so the name of the owner can be seen in small text on the screen.
Any other ideas before I have to call HP ?

Does it power up when plugged into PC / in it's cradle (if you have one)?

Re: iPAQ rx3700 Problem
No such luck. Put it in the dock for a few hours but didn't make any diffence. I'm guessing its something to do with the RAM since it won't start up. It belongs to a PE teacher so its probably been bumped around a lot.
The warranty expired last week

Take a look at this site,
Ipaq spares and repairs
I broke my h5450, it wouldn't switch on and before the battery ran out the fingerprint security didn't work correctly. I sent it to this guy and he replaced the activesync part at the bottom that connects it to the cradle, which I asked him to do, and he also seemed to replace the mainboard for no extra cost because you pay for the repair before you send the ipaq to him.
It did take a while for the repair, about 2 weeks, but for £60 he shipped me back a fully functional H5450 and the repairs are covered for 3 months I think.
I would recomend him.

Re: iPAQ rx3700 Problem
Yes, I had tried the hard reset so I think the time has come to call HP
I'm expecting it to cost about £100 but maybe I'm being too negative.
