The Actual NIC or the other LAN Device? If its the actual NIC, its an Intel based one, something like 8940 rings a bell but that could be complete piffle, and the other one is the Intel vPro stuff as it makes a special LAN port for it for management and stuff.

I had the same trouble not long ago, 8940 also rings a bell but damned if I can find the page now...
