Could you not get a Creative 2.1 set and then do away with the sub and its built in amp and then re-drive them off something else perhaps?

DB... if you had just asked! You have seen that one of my living rooms has KEF - Innovators in Sound - SURROUND SOUND SYSTEMS - home theatre - home theatre KHT1005.2 in it! They are the baby KEF eggs and perfectly adequate for use in a secondary room. You should be able to find a couple of speakers on Ebay too!
