Right, colour laser printer...
Before i got here someone caused a minor toner explosion, toner everywhere. Have cleaned what i can.
But when i print a page of C Y M or K i get black horizontal lines 2.5 cms apart and random white vertical lines.
When i print black it looks like an ECG printout....every 2.5 cms i get peaks and then a small peak. The rest of the page is mottled black!
Please help.....i'm covered in toner...

16th September 2008, 11:44 AM #2 What printer is it? You should be able to do a diagnostic page which prints out a page of each colour, so you can identify which one is the problem.
We had the same problem with a HP1515 that got delivered last week. The magenta cartridge was buggared. Luckily we had bought some spare at the same time, so we replaced the cartridge and rang HP. Tthey sent out a new one.

16th September 2008, 11:45 AM #3 sounds like its all clogged around a roller or fuser.
really can only take it to bits again and go mad with the compressed air.

I had one of those do that and I had to strip the whole thing apart. Clean it and let it run for a few days and then to it again.
I found most the the dust come out of the fuser unit. What I found out after a few trys was that one colour kept coming out and it was a broken crartidge even though it was new.
Good Luck

16th September 2008, 12:58 PM #7 Hmm, well the colour i'm mostly covered in is yellow...so i'm wondering if that's a bit dodgy, plus i've noticed its not a genuine cartridge. When i was looking at the black, the toner all seemed to sit mostly on the one side of its roller, any reasons why it would be doing that?

16th September 2008, 01:16 PM #11 Given that the unit was damaged when you weren't there you can safely assume that whoever did it will have given a "sanitised" version of events that were far less severe than the actual problem. So it's probably been given a lot more abuse than you've been told.
My advice would be to make a case for the machine being slow, out of date and a waste of your time which by now is probably wracking up with other jobs pending. Get a new printer and be done with it...
