Generally laptop keyboards are pretty easy to replace - the only problem is affording the new keyboards (usually around £50).

We have done this several times. [Luckily...?] some of our staff have been clumsy [historically] and we have kept every part of the newly non-functioning laptops. Out of one damaged laptop, as I recall, my excellent technician has been able to cobble together three [3] working laptops [from damaged] that would have cost too much to have repaired otherwise. She has saved the school a small fortune and I am sure that this is not appreciated, despite my best efforts.

Anyway, back on topic, the most cost effective way to deal with this issue is to hold onto those spare parts you think that you will NEVER need again.
